Poco a Poco was founded in 2017 as an intensive, interactive vocal music training institute, created to bring top quality instruction and concert opportunities to high school students and the greater community. Founded by Streator native and Executive Director Kate Tombaugh, Poco a Poco is made up of passionate musicians, educators, and arts-lovers.

Poco a Poco offers two levels of training and experience for young musicians throughout our week-long festival: A young artist program for incoming high school freshmen through graduated seniors (at the time of the Summer Music Fest), and Junior Faculty positions for college-aged musicians or recent college graduates.
There are four concerts free and open to the public throughout the week, all hosted at Park Presbyterian Church in Streator, IL: 201 N Vermillion St, on the SE corner of the City Park.
The training will now be split into several sessions:
Two online sessions June 15-30, September 15-30 and a condensed in-person festival in Streator October 9, 10, 11
Wednesday, October 7th evening:
Community Choir rehearsal
Sunday, October 11th at 3 PM:
A large culmination concert (free and open-to-the-public) featuring our students, faculty, and community choir
