Enjoy German Cusine in this fundraiser sponsored by the Streator Downtown Area Businesses. The event takes place at Park Place, 406 E. Hickory St. A social hour will begin at 5 p.m., followed by a
six-course sit-down German dinner at 6 p.m. Tickets are $50. All proceeds will

Pipe Dreams Organ Concert - Feb 15 & 16
Returning in 2014, visitors will be treated to the remarkable sounds of five different pipe organs as they attend concerts daily at Streator churches.
There is no charge for the concerts, but a free will offering will be taken, with proceeds going to the Majestic Theater, to help update the projection system.
The schedule for the concerts is as follows:

1 PM Park Presbyterian Church - Nancy Mueller, organist and Louise Collins, pianist.
2 PM Holy Trinity Lutheran Church - Pastor Peter Glock and Jordan Glock, organists.
3 PM First United Methodist Church - Elaine Cunningham, organist.
Sun., Feb. 16
2 PM Christ Episcopal Church - Anne Badger, organist
3 PM St. Paul’s Lutheran Church - Jerry Keck, organist
Musical selections vary from classical to modern. Some examples are: “Prelude and Fugue in E-flat minor,” “Beautiful Savior,” “A Mighty Fortress,” “Lo How a Rose E’er Blooming,” “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” and “The Old Rugged Cross.”
Nancy Mueller, who has participated in Pipe Dreams for many years, and at various churches, is now an organist at Park Presbyterian and St. Michael, the Archangel. Nancy has been a music instructor in local schools. Her sister, Louise Collins, is also a music instructor.
Pastor Glock is pastor of Zion Lutheran Church in Wenona. Jordan Glock is his son. They have participated in Pipe Dreams for several years.
Elaine Cunningham is organist and choir director at Minonk First Baptist Church and is director and accompanist of the Village-Aires. This is her first time playing in Pipe Dreams.
Anne Badger, a teacher of organ and the organist for First Congregational Church in Ottawa, has previously played at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for Pipe Dreams.
Jerry Keck is an organist from Flanagan and has played previously at both St. Paul’s Lutheran and First United Methodist.
Pipe Dreams began several years ago as a project of the Streator Red Cross Board

Taste of the Town
The Taste of the Town is an annual culinary event and auction, and is held at the Knights of Columbus. Roamer Cruise Night and Car Show. The largest cruise night in downstate Illinois, featuring over 500 cars and 18,000 spectators in the downtown business district. On display is a 1917 Roamer, originally built in Streator. Cars will cruise from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday evening. Food, music, prizes, family fun. The car show will be held Saturday in Marilla Park from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. with trophies awarded.
